We hope you're ready for a big content update! Our new update brings hundreds of new objects to decorate your lot with, your Persona has a brand new motive to look after - Social - and mirrors now have reflections. That's not all - we've also added wardrobes so you can switch between outfits, improved how stairs work, and have a bunch of bug fixes.
New Objects Have Arrived!
Hundreds of new furniture items have landed in the Shop - sofas and armchairs, beds, dining tables and desks, wardrobes and dressers, kitchen and bathroom cabinets, lamps, candles, curtains, rugs, pictures, plants and plenty more.
Some of the objects even have new interactions, and we plan to add even more in the future to others. Currently, this includes:
- Make a Coffee at the coffee machines for an Energy boost - just watch out for coffee breath, it knocks your Hygiene down a little!
- Put the kettle on and Make a Cuppa, or Get a Water at the water cooler.
- Open and close the curtains and raise and lower the blinds
- Watch the wax rise and fall in the lava lamp, and light up the room with candles!
- Call a friend on the telephones to boost your social
Some objects, such as computers, slow cooker or the gym equipment, is just for show for now - more interactions will be coming in the future!
Social: A Brand New Motive!
Social is your fourth motive, sitting alongside Hunger, Energy and Hygiene! This means you can now take care of your social motive as you play.
Social motive is there to encourage interaction with players and hanging out in lots! When you're on your own, your social will slowly go down. As soon as another player is nearby, it will stop decaying.
Spending time with other players fills it back up - sit together, hang out, or use interactions to give social a boost. Even using the lot chat will help when other people are online.
If the game is quieter or you're playing solo, you can also use emotes or use the telephone to call a friend (click on player / or one of the new landlines). These will only take you so far, though.
When Social Runs Low
Like all other motives, your Social can decay! As it starts to run low, your persona will sigh and start craving some social interaction. At 10%, they will start crying under a rain cloud which will follow them. At 5%, the cloud becomes a thunderstorm. And finally, if it completely depletes, you'll have a big dramatic cry.
Low social will never stop you from doing things, though your Persona will not be too happy!
If you spot someone crying under a rain cloud, you can click on them and choose "Comfort" to give them a big hug. It lifts the social for both of you - and more than any regular interaction!
Mirrors Now Have Reflections!
Every mirror in Vitare now shows a real reflection of the room.
If your computer's struggling, you can switch them off under Settings -> Graphics -> Mirror reflections.
Change Your Outfit at the Wardrobe!
We have added new wardrobes in the storage Shop category. You can head over to any of the new wardrobes and choose Change Outfit to pick from your saved outfits.
Your persona will have a look inside, give a twirl and change into their new look in front of everyone! Plan Outfits takes you to the Persona Creator to put some new looks together.
Stairs - Bug Fixes & New Designs
We know staircases have been buggy at times, so we've worked to improve them. Your Persona will now walk around them instead of appearing to climb them under some scenarios, and the top step now meets the next storey properly too.
There are five new staircases to build with - the Club Stairs, Casino Stairs, Tiled Stairs, Metal Walkway Stairs and the Grand Ornate Stairs. You can now also add or remove the railings on each side of a staircase - just click on the staircase to update them!
Bug Fixes
- Players now walk to the front of wall lamps, mirrors and other wall-mounted objects, instead of going round the back of the wall.
- Long player names now show in full above heads instead of being cut short.
- Fixed the chat filter wrongly muting some everyday messages.
- Fixed objects sometimes showing the wrong textures or holes while you're placing them.
- Fixed game windows like Crafting, Send Feedback and Achievements looking like the game had frozen when Reduce Motion was switched on. We've switched Reduce Motion off for everyone once - you can turn it back on in your Settings if you'd like it.
That's everything for this update - see you in-game!
