Building a Safe and Fun Community
Vitare is still relatively young and the community around it is growing fast. Most of what we see day to day is genuinely lovely - players building incredible lots, helping each other out, and making the world feel like somewhere worth spending time. It's been amazing to see that and its the exact community we want to build.
That said, we have heard of a few instances of trolling recently and we wanted to take a moment to address it directly and to remind everyone of how we approach these things.
What We Ask of Everyone
We expect all players to treat each other the way you would want to be treated. Do not harass, bully, or deliberately ruin someone else's experience. Do not use offensive or hateful language. If you are on someone's lot, respect that it is their space.
The vast majority of our community already does this without being asked. This is just a reminder that it matters to us, and that we are paying attention.
What We Have in Place
Whilst we can't take action on hearsay, we do have anti-cheat systems and moderation tools that allow us to investigate reports and take action where needed. We will not go into detail on exactly how these work, but they are there and we do use them.
Where we find clear evidence of someone repeatedly or seriously violating our community standards, we will act. That includes temporary suspensions and/or permanent bans in line with our Terms and Conditions. We are not looking to ban people over minor things, but we will protect the community where we need to.
We are also continuing to build out tools that put more control in your hands directly. In tomorrows update, you will be able to kick and ban players from your lot whose behaviour is bothering you, without needing to wait for us to intervene.
Nature of Online Games
Vitare is a live online game with real players interacting in real time, and like any online space it is impossible for us to monitor every conversation or interaction as it happens. We are a small team and the world is big.
Vitare is a strictly an 18+ game. By registering an account every player has agreed to our Terms and Conditions, which set out clearly what kind of behaviour is and is not acceptable. We expect players to hold themselves to that standard.
How to Report Something
If you experience or witness something that does not feel right, please let us know. You can use the in-game feedback button or reach out directly at support.vitaregame.com. Include as much detail as you can, including the player name involved and what happened.
We read every report. We may not always be able to share the outcome, but nothing gets ignored.
Thanks for Being Here
And finally, the community that has formed around Vitare in such a short time has been one of the best parts of this whole journey. The people who play this game make it what it is. We just want to make sure it stays a place everyone can enjoy.
