Beta Update v0.5.1 Release Notes
We're thrilled to be releasing a new game update with a highly anticipated feature! Multi-story lots are here and you can get started immediately with them from today!
Multi-Story Lots
Ever get tired of only being able to build on one floor? Wish you had an upstairs so you can double the space? Multi-story lots are the answer to your wishes! You can now built up to two extra floors on any lot you own.
We anticipate this will allow players to be even more creative with their builds and create truly unique lots for players to visit and enjoy.
Getting Started
To get started, you will need to own a lot. You can unlock additional stories by opening the Lot Management Panel and going into "Upgrades". From here you can add one or two stories, and these will be the same size as your lot.
Once upgraded, you can immediately start building and placing your furniture.
To access these higher levels, we have introduced a new category in the Shop called "Stairs" - how creative, right? At launch, we have one style of staircase but we plan to add more in the future once we become confident in the underlying mechanics of multi-story lots.
A new toggle will now appear on multi-story lots allow you to toggle up/down. This can be found to the left of the wall toggle button.
Feedback wanted!
Your feedback will be critical in allowing us to enhance and polish this feature. We have tested many scenarios with multi-story lots and ironed out many bugs throughout the development - however, as with all life simulation games, anything is possible once another player tries something different!
We ask you to share your experience in the Discord and via the in-game feedback button, so we can improve this feature.
Future plans
We have capped lots at 3 stories for now in the interest of performance. It is our hope that we can increase this further in the future if performance can remain reasonable. As mentioned, we also plan to add a wider variety of stairs.
Other Changes
- Surrounding terrain has been updated based on your feedback. Hills and declines are now less dramatic, allowing you to see more of the environment - such as if you are near water.
- You can now see the name of objects you already have placed in your lot and click to buy another. Move to Inventory and Sell Object has been integrated into this new panel.
- Personas are more thoughtful about their routing around lots to improve navigation
Bug Fixes
- Selected object will no longer unintentionally place elsewhere when you click the game UI
- Spawned objects (e.g. pizza) no longer stop you from moving the object it was placed on once it has been disposed of
- Login screen background image now works with resolutions that are not 16:9 aspect
