It’s been a quieter week on the blog but that doesn’t mean there hasn’t been any progress!
Here’s some of the things we have been working on:
- Unifying Build Tools, Inventory and Shopping into one UI
- This was a significant piece of work as we had to merge separate systems created through development
- It caused a few bugs with furniture registering in the lot which have bene squashed
- The UI itself now needs some serious polishing now that the functionality has been made – we will show it to you soon!
- Overhaul the Lot Information Panel
- We have updated the panel that appears when you click on a lot
- Lots now have descriptions, you can change the category, change the name, and see a thumbnail of the owner.
- There is a 7 day cool-down on updating a lot category
- Move an existing lot
- You can now move an existing lot to a new location! Everything will be moved as-is.
- You have the option to demolish the property so you can start fresh, and move all furniture into your inventory.
- There is a 7 day cool-down on moving lots
- Bug squashed: Fixing furniture not appearing for other players in the lot
- If a lot owner placed furniture, others players were not able to see them without reloading the room. This was fixed.
- Bug squashed: Editing your lot description caused the neighbourhood to break if you left your lot
- Bug squashed: Chat bubbles appearing outside of lots
Our next area of focus is on the ability to add/remove friends and direct messaging your friends. Once we have done this, we will begin polishing the game and tidying up the functionality we have created.
The goal from here will be to allow us to release an Alpha so we can start to test performance and features out in the wild. From there, we can make fixes and changes before a Beta release.
We’re looking forward to you getting to try Vitare soon!
