It’s great to be able to stop and look back at how things are progressing. I think our map view is the one that has progressed the most so far.
The original version was a collection of squares in a grid that you could purchase. Whilst it worked, it looked more like a chess board than world map.

From there, we have taken it from a prototype to working on terrain in a 3D environment.
The world map now:
- A full grid system that can hold up to 10,000 lots
- Uses a Terrain Map which is randomly generated
- Environment decor like trees, water, skybox, clouds, terrain paint.
- Room thumbnails which render on the grid
- Grid doesn’t allow placement in the water or on steep mountains
- Search functionality
- Home lot indicator to find your lot easily
- Has Vitare music playing

It’s still not perfect but it has created a perfect foundation for the functionality we are building.
We fully plan to overhaul this map before any official release and add things like points of interest, removing trees in the water, etc.
